Gallery: Sussex vs Hampshire — 03.07.2022

Episode two in our match day photo series sees us travel to England’s South Coast in the shape of The 1st Central County Ground Hove to witness ‘El Clasicoast’.

Sussex County Cricket Club’s home since 1872 and only 800 meters from the shores, it was a perfect setting for a Sunday evening battle in the T20 Vitality Blast against the highflying Hampshire. Scene and sun set.

With seagulls circling the boundary edge searching for scraps and lucky homeowners with perfect views from their lounges, there are fewer grounds that emulate its local setting, community and cuisine more than Sussex. With names such as Khan, Bopara, Robinson, Finn, Mills and Rawlins, you’re not left short of cricketing talent to admire. Especially with the likes of teenagers Archie Lenham and James Coles coming through, making everyone feel that bit older and greyer.

If you find yourself on the south coast with some time to kill, we’d encourage you to get to a game and experience some first class cricket in an historic and friendly setting. Sussex by the sea, well and truly.
